Official Rules
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A purchase or payment will not improve your chances of winning. This is a skill-and-merit-judged content contest, not a game of chance and not a sportsbook. Void where prohibited by law.
1. Sponsor
This contest (the "Contest") is sponsored and administered by the Bet Aches production team (the "Sponsor"). The Sponsor's mailing address and contact email will be listed here prior to launch.
2. Eligibility
- You must be a legal resident of one of the fifty United States or the District of Columbia.
- You must be at least 21 years of age, or the legal age of majority in your state of residence, whichever is greater, at the time you enter.
- Employees, officers, and contractors of the Sponsor, and their immediate family members and household members, are not eligible.
- The Contest is void in any jurisdiction where it is prohibited or would require registration or bonding the Sponsor has not completed.
3. Contest Period
The Contest runs in weekly cycles. Each weekly entry window opens Tuesday at 12:00:01 a.m. Pacific Time and closes Monday at 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Entries received after a window closes will be held and considered in the next weekly cycle. The Sponsor's server clock is the official timekeeper for all entries.
4. How to Enter
Visit betaches.com/submit and complete the entry form. You will be asked to describe the bet that went wrong, upload an image of your bet slip as proof, and optionally attach a short video or audio recording of your reaction. You must provide a valid email address so we can reach you if you win.
Limit one entry per bet. You may enter multiple times across the Contest only with genuinely different bets. Entries that are duplicates, automated, or submitted through any means other than the official form may be disqualified. The Sponsor may impose reasonable rate limits.
5. What You Submit
By entering, you represent and warrant that:
- The entry is truthful and describes a real bet you personally placed.
- The bet slip image is authentic and unaltered.
- You own or control all rights in every photo, video, and audio recording you upload.
- Every identifiable person appearing or heard in your media has given you permission for it to be submitted and broadcast, and each of them is an adult.
- Your entry does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights, and contains no third-party broadcast footage, commercially released music, or other licensed content.
Do not submit anything containing a minor, anything unlawful, or anything you would not want aired.
6. Rights You Grant
By entering, you grant the Sponsor a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, edit, excerpt, distribute, publicly perform, and display your entry, including your name, city, state, voice, likeness, and any media you uploaded, in any medium now known or later developed. This includes use on the podcast, on social media, in promotional material, and in archives and compilations.
This license exists so the show can air your Betache. You keep ownership of your own content. You waive any right to inspect or approve the finished use, and you waive any claim based on editing, juxtaposition, or alteration. You are not entitled to compensation for this use beyond the prize described in Section 7, if you win.
7. Judging and Selection
Each week the Sponsor reviews eligible entries and selects up to three (3) winners. Selection is not random. Entries are judged on the following subjective criteria, weighted at the Sponsor's discretion:
- Severity and improbability of the way the bet was lost
- Entertainment value and storytelling quality of the written account
- Quality and usability of any accompanying reaction media
- Suitability for broadcast on the program
All judging decisions are made by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion and are final and binding. The Sponsor is not obligated to select a winner in any given week, and may decline to select a winner if no entry meets its standards. Feedback on individual entries will not be provided.
8. Prize
Each prize is fifty United States dollars (US $50.00). Up to three (3) prizes per weekly cycle, one per winner. Approximate retail value: $50 per prize. Total prize value depends on the number of weeks the Contest runs.
- The prize is paid electronically to the payment handle the winner provides, or by another method at the Sponsor's discretion. The Sponsor does not collect bank account numbers, card numbers, or Social Security numbers through the entry form.
- The prize is not transferable and no substitution is permitted, except that the Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
- All federal, state, and local taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. If your prize winnings from the Sponsor total $600 or more in a calendar year, the Sponsor may be required to issue an IRS Form 1099 and to collect a completed Form W-9 before paying further prizes.
- The Sponsor may require a winner to sign an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release, and a publicity release before the prize is awarded. If a winner does not respond within fourteen days of notification, or fails to return required documents, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.
9. Winner Notification
Winners are notified at the email address submitted with the entry. The Sponsor is not responsible for undeliverable email, spam filtering, or incorrect contact information. It is your responsibility to keep the address you entered with monitored.
10. Publicity
Except where prohibited by law, accepting a prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor to use the winner's first name, last initial, city, state, voice, likeness, and entry content for promotional purposes in any medium, without further notice, compensation, or approval.
11. Privacy
Information you submit is handled under our Privacy Policy. In short: we collect what we need to judge entries and pay winners, we do not sell your personal information, and we delete uploaded media on a rolling retention schedule unless your entry is shortlisted or wins.
12. Disqualification
The Sponsor may disqualify any entry or entrant that, in its sole judgment, falsifies a bet slip, misrepresents the facts of the bet, submits content it does not have rights to, uses automated entry methods, tampers with the entry process, or behaves abusively toward the Sponsor or other entrants.
13. Not a Sportsbook
Bet Aches does not accept, place, broker, or settle wagers of any kind. It does not hold entrant funds. Money flows in one direction only, from the Sponsor to a winner. Nothing on this site is betting advice, a betting service, or a solicitation to gamble.
14. Limitation of Liability
By entering, you release and hold harmless the Sponsor, its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their officers, directors, employees, and agents from any liability for any injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising from your participation in the Contest or your acceptance, receipt, use, or misuse of a prize.
The Sponsor is not responsible for technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections of network hardware, software, or telephone lines; unauthorized human intervention; typographical or printing errors; or lost, late, misdirected, garbled, incomplete, or corrupted entries or uploads.
If the Contest cannot be conducted as planned due to fraud, technical failure, or any other cause beyond the Sponsor's reasonable control, the Sponsor may modify, suspend, or terminate the Contest, and may select winners from eligible entries received before the action was taken.
15. Disputes and Governing Law
These Official Rules are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Except where prohibited, you agree that any dispute arising out of the Contest shall be resolved individually, without resort to class action, and exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California. You waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental, or consequential damages and any award of attorneys' fees.
16. Changes to These Rules
The Sponsor may revise these Official Rules at any time. The version posted on this page at the moment you enter governs your entry. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
17. Responsible Gambling
